What is it like at the Prometric Test center for LIFA?

The LIFA Exam is conducted at the Prometric Testing Centers. It is a 4-hour PC-based multiple choice exam with 200 questions.

-- For Prometric, you sign up for a location and date of your choice (there are several thousand global centers).

-- Then you arrive at Prometric, where you store all of your papers in a locker facility provided by Prometric.

Only correct answers count, so you might as well guess.

I found the toughest part was to finish on time. I needed to rapidly fill in some answers at the end. You are able to mark questions to return to and you can go back to each question if you have time. I would recommend finding some of the easier Ethics and portfolio recommendation topics first and leave the more difficult valuation problems for the end. Every question counts the same, so you might as well get the easy points where you can.

-- You then are allowed to bring in an approved calculator

-- The site is monitored with cameras and proctors.

-- You are provided a introductory tutorial for 15 minutes and then you can start the exam. The questions are split into topical sections. There are some questions that have the same lead-in text, so you can save a lot of time by not re-reading the same text over and over.
